International Engineering Graduate Programs

International Engineering Masters

The aim of the International Engineering Graduate Programs at EPITA is to develop in its students the best management practices within the field of computer science engineering. Each student should have a solid basis in fundamental engineering concepts and in those additional skills essential for clarity and accuracy in situation analysis and problem solving in the IT business.

A curriculum based on the real needs of the business world
There are three main career categories to which our programs give special emphasis:

  • Management positions, typically project managers
  • Operational positions, particularly in the technical or strategic areas
  • Consulting positions, in the area of technical and/or strategic consulting

Our International Engineering Graduate Programs are open to candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related fields. Students with a strong background in engineering and a degree in business are also encouraged to apply for the Information Technology Management program. The International Engineering Graduate Programs program is organized in three clearly differentiated academic periods: the fundamentals, the specialization and the professional training periods.

The  fundamentals  period

The fundamentals period of the Graduate Program aims at giving our students sound technical knowledge for their specialization as well as knowledge in engineering and know-how relating to company operations. This 5-month period is common to all our international Engineering Graduate Programs.

The specialization period

International Engineering Masters

The central purpose of the specialization period of the Graduate Program is to enable our students to enter the job market at the end of their studies on an executive level. At this time, each student specializes according to a chosen career in order to graduate with a background suited for companies. The professional profile of our students is built progressively around a series of increasingly specialized academic periods which structure the specialized education:

  • a common core curriculum period (1½ month) which is the same for all the specialized programs belonging to the same training cycle.
  • the specialization period (3½ months) which is specific to each Graduate Program.

The period of specialized professional training

This last period of education is organized around a company internship of 6 months, culminating in a Graduate’s Thesis to be defended in the school.

Corporate experience

Built around the real needs of the business world, EPITA’s programs are designed to meet its expectations. From the Improvement Committee and the Scientific Committee, where senior business executives and high-level managers provide their input for improving the school's programs and research focus (IBM, Microsoft, France Télécom, Cisco, Syntec…) to the classes themselves oftenInternational Engineering Masters taught by recognized professionals working in the industry, business is present at all levels of the school.

Through this strong corporate partnership, our Career Services maintains privileged contacts with multinational companies that lead to internship opportunities for our students. Our alumni network that extends over 40 countries also enhances international opportunities for our current students.

The required 6-month internship allows students to be exposed to the latest technologies and to gain valuable experience. Feedback from the internship host companies has been overwhelmingly supportive of our programs and they usually give an allowance to our trainees.

On campus

EPITA (Ecole pour l’Informatique et les Techniques Avancées) is a member of IONIS Education Group, the largest group of private institutions of higher education in France. Bringing 15 schools together under the same banner, the IONIS Group has nearly 15,000 students in France, and reaches 200,000 students in the world.

Located just outside of Paris, EPITA shares a number of facilities with other high-technology schools from the IONIS Group. On campus, students have access to the computer rooms and laboratories 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It is the same for clubs and classrooms. In addition to the computer rooms set up for networking, 15 specialized   laboratories have been created, adding up to a total of 4000 sq. meters dedicated to technical equipment.

The Internet connection at the school runs at 150 Mbps, permitting 2,000 work stations to work simultaneously. In addition, the whole campus is WI-FI connected, enabling students to use mobile devices anywhere.

Training in and by companies

We believe that professionals are not only the best placed, but the only ones genuinely qualified, to train you for professional skills, careers, and company life. Our International Engineering Graduate program is based on the following academic choices:

  • To use only instructors coming from companies
  • To require students to make direct contact with companies frequently
  • To include extensive company internship periods

Learning through projects

Learning a vocation is above all succeeding in mastering operational practices, beyond the necessary basic-level theoretical knowledge acquired. Our International Engineering Graduate Programs emphasize the acquisition of concrete know-how through a learning process centered on projects which are characterized by:

  • an equal blend of basic courses and professional projects
  • a very strong emphasis on teamwork
  • an evaluation entirely based on projects
